My Tutoring Process

1) Initial Consultation

Fill out the contact form so we can get in touch to schedule your FREE 15-minute consultation call! During our chat, we’ll talk about your student’s needs, goals, and interests, as well as any specific areas you’d like to focus on. I’ll also gather a bit about their learning style, school curriculum, and any challenges they might be facing.

2) Scheduling

All tutoring sessions will be scheduled via email or text, depending on student and parent preference. Student availability will be discussed during the initial consultation call. I try to be as flexible as possible with my time and will work with your schedule to find a time that works for both parties!

3) Online v In-Person Lessons

In-Person Lessons: I hold in-person lessons across the DC, Arlington, and Alexandria area. Due to high student demand, I am asking in-person students to meet at the James M Duncan library in Alexandria, VA. If another location is needed, I'd be happy to discuss but meeting at a central location allows me to minimize conflicts for students and make sure I have as much time available as possible for all students!

Online Lessons: I hold online lessons over Zoom so students and I can use the whiteboard and screensharing functions to have interactive and engaging sessions. I will email the Zoom link to a student about five minutes before a scheduled lesson, so they have time to prepared and join the meeting on their end!

4) What do I get with my Lessons?

Students generally schedule one-hour lessons with me once a week. During these lessons we can go through homework, answer questions from class, prepare for examinations, or look ahead to topics coming in the next week. When our lesson ends, I encourage students to email or text me with questions in-between our sessions. I understand tutoring can be an expensive endeavor for many students, and when you work with me, not only do you pay for an hour of structured tutoring, but you also get continued support throughout the week for no additional charge.
